Pituitary primordia from 11-day-old rat fetuses were cultured with DSIP, GnRH or TRH, and immunocytochemistry was used to quantify differentiation of LH, TSH, prolactin, GH and ACTH cell types. DSIP induced LH and TSH cell differentiation in a concentration-dependent manner.
