In primary rat pituitary cells, ipamorelin released GH with potency and efficacy similar to GHRP-6 (EC50 1.3 nmol/L). Antagonist profiling showed action through a GHRP-like receptor, and in swine studies ipamorelin did not significantly change ACTH or cortisol, unlike GHRP-6 and GHRP-2.
